Hot Water Systems: Replacing Hot Water Cylinder

The pressure hot water cylinder is too old.

When was the last time you called plumbing professionals to conduct a hot water cylinder installation? Many people are not aware of when a heat pump reaches its expiration and outlives its usefulness. For all you know, you could be using a tired and old hot water heating system that could be very risky in case it starts acting up. The average life span of a high-pressure hot water cylinder is between 8 to 12 years. If the heat pump in the hot water system is more than 10 years old, it may start exhibiting the following signs:

It could be in the water heater or the pipes that connect to the faucet.

When the heat pump reaches its average life span of 10 years, it can produce rumbling noises when heating the water. If your household consumes a large amount of water daily or weekly, the noise will be more pronounced and disturbing. Causes of loud rumbling noises in high-pressure cylinders include:



·  A buildup of sediments—continuously heating water leads to the formation of sediments at the bottom of the tank floor.

·  Lack of flushing the heater—flush the tank of the heat pump at least once every year by professional licensed plumbers. 

Leaking hot water heating cylinder

Have you noticed water around the floor area of the heater’s tank? When the hot water system is near the end of its life, it starts leaking water, which results in property damage. The main cause of leaks in pressure cylinders is the constant expansion of the tank during hot water heating. The expansions and contractions weaken the cylinders over time, leading to cracks. These flaws allow water to leak out when the cylinder expands.
